How to Hire a Videographer in Carlow, Waterford or Kilkenny

Hiring a videographer should begin with a simple question: what do you need recorded?

A wedding, school performance, and company event all have different requirements. The filming hours, sound arrangements and finished video may vary considerably, so it helps to establish the purpose of the booking before comparing suppliers.

For customers in Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny, O’Neill Wedding Videos offers wedding and event videography across the South East. Its services page outlines the types of occasions it covers.

Step 1: Decide What You Need Filmed

Start with the event itself. Is it a wedding, private function, corporate gathering, school production or interview?

Then identify the moments that matter most. You may need a complete recording of a presentation, coverage of a ceremony or an edited film that captures the atmosphere of the day.

If you are not sure what type of coverage is appropriate, explain the event and ask what options are available. A clear discussion is more useful than choosing a package based on its name alone.

Step 2: Search for a Videographer in Your Area

Searching for a videographer near you can help identify suppliers, but location should not be the only deciding factor.

Check whether the videographer covers your venue and date. Look at relevant examples of previous work and make sure the filming style suits the occasion.

O’Neill Wedding Videos is based in Wexford Town and serves the wider South East, including Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny. You can check availability through the contact page.

Step 3: Ask About Experience Relevant to Your Event

A wedding film and a corporate presentation require different preparation. When reviewing examples, look for work that resembles the recording you want.

For a wedding, pay attention to the ceremony, speeches and how the day is edited together. For a school production, look for clear stage coverage and sound. For a business event, consider how presentations and speakers are recorded.

Ask questions if the website does not show the exact type of work you need. The answer should help you understand whether the service fits your requirements.

Step 4: Confirm What the Package Includes

Before booking, establish the length of the filming session and the deliverables you will receive.

Will the recording be supplied as a complete video, an edited highlights film, or both? Is the audio included? Will you receive a USB copy or digital delivery?

For weddings, O’Neill Wedding Videos lists Essential, Premium, and Deluxe packages with different inclusions. Review the wedding packages before choosing.

For other events, explain your requirements directly and request confirmation of the agreed coverage.

Step 5: Discuss the Schedule and Venue

Provide the event date, venue address and approximate start and finish times. If the filming involves more than one location, include the travel between them in your outline.

For presentations, school shows and weddings, a running order is particularly useful. It helps identify the key moments and makes it easier to plan camera positions.

You should also check whether the venue has restrictions on recording. Some locations may limit equipment placement or movement during the ceremony or performance.

Step 6: Agree on Costs and Delivery

Ask for the price and the full list of inclusions before confirming a booking.

Find out whether the quote covers editing, travel and the final files, and whether extra coverage would incur additional costs. Confirm the booking fee, payment schedule and cancellation terms in writing.

You should also ask when the finished video is expected. Delivery times can vary according to the type of project and the editing required.

Step 7: Make the Booking

Once you are happy with the details, confirm the date and agreed services in writing. Keep a copy of the booking confirmation and any correspondence about the schedule or package.

If the event details change, inform the videographer as early as possible. Changes to timings or venues may affect the filming plan.

For events involving guests or children, make sure the appropriate permissions and privacy arrangements have been considered before filming begins.
